The Sacred Fool, as depicted in The Tarot, is one who has embarked on a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. They have let go of all pre-conceived notions, beliefs and traditions and have set out to discover Truth and Purpose. In most traditional Tarot decks, The Fool is shown holding a white rose, which embodies purity, innocence and spirituality. The Fool begins their journey with pure intentions and seeks to know self as well as the world around them. The rose can also represent mindfulness and awareness of both nature and its connection with the Divine. It adds a romantic, dreamy quality to the traveler as well. One gets the impression that The Fool is a lover, not a fighter. The Fool’s few belongings suggest a loose association with the material world and a greater focus on the Spiritual, thus providing the overall “head-in-the-clouds” orientation and a complete, abandoned trust in The Universe and their own connection with it.

The Sacred Fool begins as my own personal journey from a twisted and damaged Ego to a spiritually-aware, authentic human. My plan is to continue adding insights and connections as they arise and possibly earn a few pentacles along the way. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you pick up something for your own journey. Namaste!
